Online desk for Swiss nationals living abroad
The FDFA’s online desk allows Swiss nationals living abroad to perform a range of tasks from the comfort of their own homes, including everything from entering their details in the Register of the Swiss Abroad, requesting certificates and reporting a change in civil status, to subscribing to publications.

The FDFA’s online desk aims to simplify contact between Swiss nationals living abroad and their local Swiss representation. The representation is also available to answer any questions about the online desk. After creating an account, you can enter your details online in the Register of the Swiss Abroad. Once registered, you can:
- view your personal details
- order and pay online for a certificate of nationality or a confirmation of registration in the Register of the Swiss Abroad
- report any civil status matters such as marriages, births, adoptions, name changes or deaths
- report a change of address
- register to vote or remove yourself from the electoral register
- update your contact details (phone number, email address, etc.)
- order publications (Swiss Review, representation’s newsletter)
