Representation Agreement in Malaysia

Since September 22, 2022, the Embassy of Austria in Malaysia is processing applications for short stays up to 90 days (Schengen visa) for the purpose of business, tourism and visits to family/friends.

Valid for residents of Malaysia with the exception of:

• citizens of
  • State of Eritrea
  • the Republic of Irak
  • Federal Republic of Somalia
• visa for which an authorization has been given directly in Switzerland
• stays over 90 days (visa type D)
• gainful activity (including chauffeurs and journalists)
• medical purposes
• official purpose, including attendance at international conferences
• visa with limited territorial validity (except when linked to art. 25 (3) of the Visa Code)

In these cases residents in Malaysia must apply for a Schengen visa at the Regional Consular Center in Bangkok and must follow the same procedure as applicants resident in Thailand.
